Rethinking Higher Education Unit Design: Embedding Universal Design for Learning in Online Studies

Inclusive education in Australia has resulted a concerted push for the differentiation of pedagogical teaching approaches by educators across Kindergarten to Year 12 (K-12) learning environments. Such have been shown meet diverse range learner needs found today's classrooms. While progress is evident at primary and secondary levels education, implementing effective inclusive practices higher appears stagnant. Utilising principles Universal Design Learning (UDL) fully online pre-service teacher training unit, multiple means representation content engagement were explicitly incorporated into unit design. This approach aimed proactively support all students an environment. study provides preliminary evidence that application UDL student lower rates attrition.
